The Sd.Kfz. 10 (leichter Zugkraftwagen 1t) was a light German half-track artillery tractor developed by Demag AG between 1932 and 1939 to tow light anti-tank guns, anti-aircraft guns, and infantry howitzers while carrying gun crews. Early prototypes used underpowered BMW engines until the D II 4 model introduced a Maybach engine, which formed the basis for the production Demag D 7 variant. Produced from 1939 to 1945 by manufacturers across Germany and occupied France—including Demag, Adler, Büssing-NAG, Saur, Panhard, Simca, and Lorraine—around 17,000 units were built. Beyond the standard troop and gun tractor (Sd.Kfz. 10), the chassis spawned specialized variants including chemical reconnaissance (Sd.Kfz. 10/1), decontamination vehicles (Sd.Kfz. 10/2 and 10/3), self-propelled anti-aircraft platforms equipped with 2 cm guns (Sd.Kfz. 10/4 with FlaK 30 and 10/5 with FlaK 38), and field-modified anti-tank platforms carrying 5 cm PaK 38 guns.
