SdKfz 11

The Sd.Kfz. 11 (leichter Zugkraftwagen 3t) was a medium German half-track artillery tractor designed by Hansa-Lloyd (Borgward) and Goliath, with production running from 1937 to 1944. Built to tow medium artillery such as 10.5 cm leFH 18 howitzers, 7.5 cm PaK 40 anti-tank guns, and 3.7 cm FlaK 36/37 anti-aircraft guns, the vehicle proved to be a versatile workhorse for the Wehrmacht. Beyond its primary role as a troop and gun tractor, the chassis served as the foundation for several specialized variants, including dedicated ammunition transporters and tractors for rocket launchers (Sd.Kfz. 11/1 and 11/4 for Nebelwerfer rockets), as well as chemical defense, decontamination, and gas detection vehicles (Sd.Kfz. 11/2, 11/3, and 11/5). Combining high mobility with reliable towing capability, thousands of Sd.Kfz. 11 units and its variants were manufactured and deployed across all major European and Mediterranean war theaters.
